Product Focus – Driving for Work

By 24th January 2022No Comments

Driving, statistically, is the most hazardous work activity that most people undertake. Thousands of business drivers are killed or injured on UK roads every year, and even greater numbers of people driving for work are involved in incidents in which other road users are injured.

For any workers who drive for a significant portion of their working lives, the more miles they spend on the road the more at risk they are.

  • Nearly one in three road deaths involves a driving-for-work trip

  • Thirty-nine per cent of pedestrian deaths involve a working driver

  • One in five casualties involves a driving-for-work trip

In any organisation, every person counts, as does every car and van. Unforeseen downtime following a collision has an immediate impact on your productivity, and additional costs in the longer term. Delayed jobs, vehicle repair and hire costs, insurance increases and employee absences mean that even a minor collision can result in massive unplanned costs, as well as potentially life changing injuries to employees.

Furthermore, businesses survive and thrive on reputation. Ensuring that drivers are considerate and law-abiding, and that vehicles are free from unsightly crash damage, is an important part of maintaining the image that you work so hard to achieve.

There is a multitude of options available to companies to protect their drivers and other road users, We believe that one of, if not the best option available is to make better drivers, and that the best way to do this is with specifically-tailored in-car training.

Driving for Work is our flagship business driver safety product aimed at giving people who drive for work the best protection they can have, by making them the best driver they can be.

Having one-to-one contact with a professional Approved Driving Instructor enables the instructor to target any particular problem-areas that a driver might have, and use their expertise to identify any areas for improvement that a driver might not know about.
